Insurance for mods

Featured Replies

Had a random call from admiral yesterday, and while I was on the phone I asked out of interest how much it would be to add some mods onto my policy (mk2 Fabia vRS)

First I asked about changing the intercooler for an aftermarket one and he said Admiral wouldn't insure that at all. I then asked about how much it would cost for a remap, and the answer was about £120 extra for 11-25bhp increase and then I asked about a suspension kit, and he said that didn't change and it wouldn't put it up anymore! Was very surprised as being 20, I thought it would treble!

Very pleased with admiral's service and have been with them for a couple of years now. Just thought I'd share!

It's worth comparing the price and level of cover against a company who specialise in modified car insurance.. but it is nice to see a positive report for an insurance company once in a while!

Good to hear as I need to source some quotes for my vr6. May give them a call

I would, for me admiral have always been the cheapest and provided great service, and if they haven't been the cheapest they've matched it. And I haven't installed any mods yet, but had the thought of insurance rocketeting on my mind. As I said I was just surprised at the reasonably small premium increase. And I think for my age my insurance is fairly low as it is.

Come January renewal time I'll obviously give all the other companies including site sponsers a call :)
