Still reppin the Skoda.

Haha.

Awesome.

Which engine/trim?

Phil

Will be faster than your vRS, even if it's a 1.2 HTP

Nothing is quite as quick as a hire car :)

Everyone knows that hire cars are the fastest cars in the world!

The ford KA i had in spain 5 years ago would monster lambo's easily haha

Sent from my iPhone 4s

We once had a Hyundai Getz 1.6 litre in Australia. It actually did feal really nippy!

Not sure if was a placebo with it being a hire car or whether it was actually fast...

Ha, it says ambient on the hire docs. 1.2, I'm assuming 3 cylinder by the racket it makes. Still air con is ice cold and its comfortable. Progress is slow even for a hire car but then 3 up with near 100kg and motorway work isn't what its made for really lol.

Its got a blue temp light that comes on when we start it and its cool, looks strange. Its a bit more nippy when its just the 3 of us and no luggage and its used barely any fuel with the air con on all the time. Not bad really.

Yeah the blue light is to let you know the engine isn't up to temperature yet and so not to thrash it etc.

It looks like a facelift Fabia but didn't realise they still did the 1.2 HTP. Could it be a 1.2 TSI but the lower 80hp version?

You can still get the HTP in the lower spec models.

I see.

It's not a bad engine. A friend of mine had the 12v 70hp version some time ago and it pulled pretty well with 4 adults in the car.

Just not really desgined for motorway work really.

Yeah, that stood out even more this afternoon. Come back from a trip into Murcia city, had to drop down to 3rd at one point lol. Seriously struggling but as said it's not its area really. Some great views going through the mountains though. Still using very little fuel too so can't moan too much!

I had a 1.2 mark 1 fabia as a hire car when I went to Crete a couple of years

back. It really struggled up the steep mountain roads and a few times I said

to Mrs G that I wished it had the grunt of my vRS back home.  But to be fair,

if it had I may have gotten carried away on some of those roads and

So it's probably a good thing the car was struggling a bit...

I came very close to driving a Mustang off a cliff into the pacific about

this time last year due to someone coming around a blind bend full beams

blazing on my side of an unlit road. I flipping cacked my pants I can tell you,

I was heading south on Highway 1 toward Big Sur where we we staying.

I knew they were coming from the light glare, I just expected them to be

on their side of the road as they rounded the bend..
