Ticket ! :(

In the same vein, I have never heard Base Premiums being discussed on a customer level nor have I heard of NCB being reduced for a claim which has been closed as a 100% non-fault claim. Split liability claim YES but not a 100% non-fault accident.

Base premium - premium before deduction of discounts.

    £60 + 3 points.   Speed awareness course £90 no points   Think you get the choice. I didn't, cost me £60 + 3 points. just under a ton on the M62. ( 01/09/2009 )   You've had a good run for you m

Same boat! Got snapped going to Shark.  Just as well it wasn't on the way back.

48 in a 40.  One of those 100m limits, dead straight road (A17), some bridge or other, about 1m elevation change , but perfect visibility.  Just dumb, dumb, dumb.

Been offered training which I'll grab with both hands as I was under the impression you had to be within a just a few % and fearing the worst.  Have heard that different Foces/Enforcement areas have different guidelines.

Cost is £90, if FPN is now £100 then a real bargain.  May have to go to Lincoln, which will top that up.

You can negotiate your "detention" time, as long as its within 3?months.   It is possible out of normal working hours (whatever they are these days).

Sadly, now seriously considering a satnav with fixed camera locations.  S/H Columbus or hand held?

I was able to pick my day and did mine on a Saturday afternoon. Took around 3 hours. the only thing that changed my driving style was to leave a larger gap when stopped to minimise rear ending someone. About 75% of the time was spent how to reduce my co2 and not safe driving.

There was more women than men, every bloke knew where they'd been caught and admitted to making an incorrect decision. The women bar one didn't know where they'd been caught and most said "I don't normally speed but.."

Sussex run the courses but Hampshire don't. My MiL got caught on the A27 doing 85mph (another I usually don't speed excuser...). She was only 250m inside the Sussex border when caught so got a course rather than points she would have got in Hampshire!

You still haven't said EXACTLY what happened... Had nothing to do with who?! Sounds to me there's a dispute over the circumstances hence why you are not happy with the outcome?!

This is what happened, the pr1ck behind me was lighting a cigarette and instead of watching the road he chose to watch his cigarette/lighter combo. He drove into the back of me.

A couple of points (and yes, I did one 2 years ago)

The limits for being offered a DAS course as an alternative are between (+10% + 2 mph) and (+10 % + 9 mph) - so on a NSL single carriageway 68 mph - 75 mph.

Within reason you can select not only the day, but also the location where you take it. Although I was clocked by a camera van (doing 36 mph in a 30 zone) 100 miles away in Buckinghamshire, I arranged to take the course about 5 miles from home on a day I wasn't working.

Hampshire do run courses - until recently they ran their own local scheme and it had to be taken within Hampshire. Since February 2013  they have joined the national scheme, and drivers can opt as above to take it local to themselves (I think the Hampshire DAS is now also subbed out to the AA who run a lot of the national schemes)
