Getting ready for winter!

Featured Replies

Hello All.

Today I did the following:

Sprayed the bottom (dirtiest part) of the car with Citrus pre-wash.

Rinsed with pressure washer.

Then rinsed the remainder of the car.

Snow-foamed (Magifoam).

Rinsed again.

Washed the car using G3 Detox.

Rinsed and thoroughly dried.

Clayed the car using Soft Bilt-Hamber clay with de-ionised water with just a touch of soap added.

I carefully dried as I went.

Tomorrow I intend to polish (Carlack Complete) and wax (Collinite 845)

So, my question is...

Do I need to wash the car again tomorrow before I polish?

Many thanks.

Regards

Mike.

Is it kept outside will you be using in the mean time? If so I would wash off and dry then polish seal and wax it

Thanks for your reply, Brian.

No, its in the garage now and will remain there until I get working on it tomorrow.

Might be worth it Mike, just to remove any residues left over from claying. Then it will be all ready for the polish and wax stage.

Thanks, Simon.

I'll do that then.

If its staying in the garage...no need to wash again

Just spritz with water and dry prior to using the Carlack which would benefit with being applied via a DA polisher as the main ingredient is a cleanser.

This will buff up the paintwork and at the same time, apply a slight layer of sealer

Good luck

Thought I'd just add for what it's worth Collie's 845 is a tremendous winter wax, great choice, I love how easy it is to work with and my god is it tough.  Topped up with a QD 1-2 well applied layers will see you through to Spring, and who can say fairer than that???

I run this on my wheels all year round and will be giving Mean Green a full detail inc a coat of this ready for the season.
