To many choices

@markmi, you sound like someone who wants to be convinced of something by others (in this case, that DSG is useless and to be avoided). Then, if you have such worries, just don't buy it and enjoy controlling your car manually (that wasn't sarcasm, btw).

Also, are you really trying to get statistical information out of less than 10 owners that have replied in this thread? Someone says their bad, you go "oh, so 100% of them are bad". Someone says they're good afterwards and you go "oh, so they're actually 50/50?". Really?

PS: I've ordered my car with DSG. But that's the DSG6 so not really relevant to you in this case.

It is generally  difficult to establish the statistical truth about such issues.

Because a %age of the actual doubters and nay-sayers will keep "stum" until they have off-loaded their problem child.

Cos they would not want to talk the market down..............................................................................eh!

Others will never admit that perhaps they made a mistake, even in hindsight.

Another %age are not competent to judge, or choose to believe the salesmans glib excuses, when  the issue is raised.

Yet another percentage run a car 3 years under warrenty and dont give a Monkeys.

Then there are the Company drivers.

And as House is prone to say "everyone lies"

Hence lies, dammned lies, and STATISTICS
