Test Performance:- Octavia 1.8t (220+)v Audi TT V6

Featured Replies

Just in case you are getting used to how well your Octavia 1.8T 4x4 or vRS with rechip/remap is peforming, here's a comparison with the just-out Audi TT V6 3.2 which costs

I'm sure the TT has the stronger triple-shaft Haldex, Rob.

I'm sure that you are right Mattijs.

The point I was raising was that you get Haldex 4x4 and the same performance as a car that costs 90% more in the UK. Just reminding people who may be getting used to the acceleration by now !

reckon my RS or des's or jons would eclipse those figs.. especially top end...

:D
(The Skoda figures are from the Autocar roadtest which is 'known' to have been rechipped to 210/220+bhp, so is representative of a Jabba'd or similar conversion)

Really? How do we know? Did Skoda own up?

Yes. We don't - its a bit like the current Hutton enquiry. No

I think a bit of investigative journalism is needed here.

Quite right on the TT. Law of deminishing returns I guess.

But then. owning a Skoda skews your perspective on value for money.

Never has a more true word been written :D

I hope that VAG keep providing decent drives through the Skoda brand in future or I'll end up either keeping it for ten years or buying a Perodua Nippa. :(

Having now driven a V6 TT & a modified vRS -- I can honestly say that the TT feels slower - certainly slower than a 225 TT - although I havn't compared figures. The general concensus at work was that the V6 "Feels" slower - but even if it is -- the noise and the gearbox make it a worthwhile model, although it does not bode well for future modification.

we havent had a 3.2 in work yet. but from what i have read on the internet people seem to think it feels slower. but i think this is due to the fact that your not actually doing any thing. ie changing gear. and i think this makes the car seem slower than it is. just a trick of the mind
