  • Great day Jason, thanks for organising. The two Brisky sessions were good and dry too! By comparison the first open session I did an hour later was wet, we (myself and Sparkly's brother) watched th

Yes, I was in R-R-R mode, but I was giving it some stick! :D

They are mostly rear drive anyway, who needs the inside front? ;)

Nice vid Sparkly.

Karl you legend :)

More or less recorded the whole battle between me, Danham and joevrs lol :D

Thanks to Jason for organising another great day out and thanks to all the members that turned up ! ( the most that I've have seen at Castle Combe ).

My videos of the two Briskoda sessions

You might see your cars passing me :giggle:

Was a bit slower this year ( about 5 or 6 seconds a lap )

Session 1

At 3:56 you can see me correcting for the back end kicking out - Mental Note - must remember to get new tyres for September.

Session 2

Enjoy

Karl

Did spot myself going by into Quarry, then being summarily out accelerated by Simon's (?) mk2 Octy.

my vid :)

Sparkly got a bit off line in the chicane!  I like the Fabia II battles, reminded me of our How Fast shenanigans last year..

yeah, he took too much of the kerb, and it threw him sideways!

Hmm the cheapo camera we ran in the felly recorded a lot better than expected (for £30)

but the 10 file is 1.7gb and photobucket will only allow 500mb files, any ideas?

We really should have changed the front slicks for the yoko road tyres we had but there was not much time between runs and forgot a jack lol, the kumho slicks are the softest they make and help up well really but were well off for the last few laps with just the lsd really keeping the lines ok

YouTube might be better.

Well, I could tell from behind you that things weren't working 100%. The understeer appeared to get worse before I managed to get by in the second session. But we had fun, that's the main aim eh?

Sparkly got a bit lost and probably should have thought twice about taking pole position on his first outing

Corrected that for you.

Those lines look even worse seen from Dave's Camera.

At least I left plenty of room for improvement.

I still need improvement and I have done over 100 laps at Combe over the years.  Really hoping there's a Pro I can use at the full day on the 20th.

You could try throwing it through windows movie maker, that should allow you re-encode it keeping it in max resolution but shrinking the file size to help with uploading.

But as suggesting youtube is better to upload to than photobucket.

I really hope someone drops out of that 1 and you hear about to let me know.

Really annoyed I didn't put my name down for it.

just so people know, my vid was taken by a 59p app on the iphone ;) "Witness" :P

How did you get away with a "non permanent" mount on the windscreen?

was good :) only time I had to smuggle a camera into a track was the nuburgring! lol.... the mount braces against the dash to give the stability :)

Got a picture of your mount setup Dave? I was thinking of getting a new camera for filming track sessions

I need to workout how to do this next weekend.

I wanna use harry's laptimer on my iphone, but have a feeling they will clock it in the windscreen.

Again with the gopro I want it in the rear window on a suction mount, but I think they will notice it as my rear window isn't blacked out (wonder if I can get a black sunstrip fitted at the top of the rear screen to hide it).

Which version of Harry's are you using?

The Android Rookie version doesn't have video, so phone just needs to be secure somewhere, but not in a pocket.

The other versions appear to support video, so it'll be a permanent mount. I see your issue with windscreen mounts, but that's what Dave used, so I'm wondering how he got away with it!

Could get a decent mount I suppose, like a RAM, but those are £££

I have a SpiderPodium I could use in the vent on the top of the dash. If I give it some additional bracing, no reason it would move at all.

iPhone version of harry's mate (thats what my first video in this post was taken with, where it shows the speed and G etc.

For that video, it's mounted at the top of the windscreen on a modified gopro mount, but on the ring your not allowed to video it, so it can't be there as I drive onto the track, and it's not something that I can easily clip into place as you have to be very precise to get it mounted.

As for my gopro that was in the rear window on a suction mount yesterday.

I'll take a pic later today... its still just a suction mount... but a hefty one...

A few pics from the morning session, unfortunately I wasn't in the greatest spot for the Briskoda session...

Those are awesome... tell me more about how you did it. :)
