My car LOVED Combe!

Featured Replies

CN - Yeah mate it was down to 360BHP as 3 port boost solenoid packed in on the base map they drove down to the event in lol - Bloody nightmare eh! however it might have been down on power but did you see how flat it was around the corners? lovely chassis that car has. It does have over 500BHP on full boost but the car exists corners sideways haha - the Nurburgring record was set only using 440BHP of its 500BHP available because of the torque it has.

Yeah seemed slowish as my mate had no trouble passing it in his Audi a3 !!

Ordered new cts and brake light switch so fingers crossed. Will keep you all updated

If it's misfiring coming out of the corners, it's likely to be a fueling issue (starvation).

How much fuel was in the tank, and what fuel pump, pressure reg and injectors are you running ?

Also does it have a fuel swirlpot fitted ?

  • Author

It was 3/4 of a tank it's running genesis 550cc injectors no swirl pot with a walbro in tank fuel pump

4bar fpr as well

3/4 tank would rule out fuel stravation to pump but it depends on what uprated pump they have fitted and how they fitted !!

best bet pull the pump out and take a pics for me

Ok mate I'm not home until tomorrow but can pull it out and take a picture for you when I get home

That's NOT the one you want mate!

Put 600x300x76mm fmic into the search bar and loads come up for £78+postage @£9!

More work to fit,but well worth the effort ;-)

Mark where did you get your piping for your intercooler because toyo only do 2.25" where as that's cooler has 3" inlet and outlet?

You want 2.5inch pipe work and I can source you a custom welly cooler with 63 ends ;-)

+1 mate for 63mm pipes!

I have 75-63mm reducing elbows on my fmic....

76mm pipes are tight to route through the front end without rubbing on almost everything! Lol!

Yea defiantly mate that's what I thought of doing just wanted to check with you first. What price are we talking Clive as I can get a cooler the same as marks for £90 and as I'm kinda on a budget that sounds good athough not sure how much my pro alloy one is worth

You should easily get £300+ for a pro alloy fmic!

That should cover the Welly cooler and in all honesty I can't see the rest of the "parts" being more than £200!

PM me your mobile and I can txt you some pics of mine from under the car and without the bumper on to help you get a bead on things!

Save you buying the wrong silicone bits!

Oh and be prepared to trim your bumper as well ;-)

It will be about £90 I believe dude

good news buddy....

FYI I had a Walbro 255 pump fitted and removed recently due to poor running low down. When I removed the pump the rubber sock had disintegrated allowing the pump to slop about in the surround. I also think i buggered the pump running the tank dry and after a fuel clean still poor. Swapped with a LCR pump and all is fine again.

Seems also the walbro do not get as good press these days for flow when compared to what else is out there.

Ah see pump has been in the back of my mind for a while since Clive mensioned it before, so do you think a Leon cupra r one will be man enough?

Also fitted new forge inlet hose and dv hose compliments of Lloyd. Slowly getting there. Next is few engine bay clean up bits then intercooler. Cooler from Clive and still unsure where to get pipe work from local or online.
