Grounding Fault - Engine Warning light on

Featured Replies

I took my car in for a service at a friendly garage who mentioned my engine warning light is on due to a grounding fault on terminal B (something along those lines).

Due to them not being experienced in electrical issues they couldn't go into much detail but suggest my aftermarket AMP could be doing it - but reminded my they wouldn't want to say for certain.

Now the AMP has been fitted for years now, and I can't remember when the engine warning light first came on - but it was around the time my EGR valve failed. The failure of the EGR valve seemed to coincide with my glow plug light perpetually flashing as well.

So my questions are...

1) Would the glow plug lights flashing be due to a failed EGR valve?

2) Could a grounding fault (error code) be caused by my AMP, maybe the earthing point loosing some coherence over the years?

Cheers guys

I had the glow plug light flashing once on the motorway and the fault that was logged was with the EGR. I forget what the fault was now but if I get a chance tomorrow I'll look it up.

would be very grateful if you could mate! Brake lights seem to be alright, that was my first guess after searching the forums!
