why has my seat belt bong stopped bonging?

Featured Replies

Only had the car and day, it was bonging when I took my belt off early but suddenly it stopped bonging? The light still comes on but no noise? I'm not complaining though just curious why?

It should bong once you start driving without seatbelt on.

And can be disabled permanently with VCDS if you wish Mike.

Need me one of those vcds....

You've worn out the bonger! :p

Mine only bongs once as well. Unlike SWMBO's Hyundai where it bongs so persistently that the driver is forced to belt up single handedly at 30mph.

It used to bong when I took it off early. But it never did then when I took it off before I stopped? The light came on though. Also the traction control light, does that always flash when it's turned off? It would just stay on in my fabia

Enjoy it mate,i hate my bong :-(

The seat belt bong stops after a while, roughly after about a minute.

It should bong as soon as you unbuckle the belt as long as you are going over 5mph.

The traction control (ESP) light should be illuminated constantly when you turn it off. It only flashes when ESP is turned on and the front wheels loose traction.

Unlike SWMBO's Hyundai where it bongs so persistently that the driver is forced to belt up single handedly at 30mph.

Hardly forced! I put my seatbelt on before starting the engine, and I must confess I can never understand why anyone ever drives off and then tries to put their seatbelt on.

Who can understand women?

I think driving while putting a seat belt on, adjusting hair and texting is their multi tasking forte that men lack.
