Bolero change

Featured Replies

Looking to replace bolero with Amundsen, does anyone know if these just swap out or does anything else have to be changed etc?

Straight swap with the possibility of needing a new fascia (I'm not sure) and a code for new stereo.

Probably will need a new fascia, it will fit with the old one, there'll be a gap between the unit and the fascia.

As KB says you'll need the code, otherwise it's more money to get the code.

Also, you'll need a GPS receiver (about a tenner off eBay). Usually has a sticky-pad on it, use that to stick it above the air-vents inside the dash.

It you've got a DAB one, you'll need a separate aerial (about £20 from dabonwheels.co.uk )

If you've got a Bluetooth one, you'll need a mic and some coding ( see here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/279714-activation-of-bluetooth-phone-functionality-on-octavia-blackline-vrs-estate/?hl=%2Bblackline+%2Bbluetooth#entry3333509 )

DAB units have an extra black FAKRA socket on the back. Sadly there seems to be no external way of identifying Bluetooth models. As in the Blackline thread above, the unit could have it, but it's deactivated, so it would be a go with VCDS to find out.

Installation itself is dead easy, even if you have to put in mic, aerial and GPS.

Some units also have the Reverse View Camera socket on, but that's a different subject. (Coding and finding the right camera: Octavia didn't have this as an option)

The BT models can be spotted on the little label reading a MAC adress ;)

OOO :)

I stand corrected then.
