Interior Disco Lights!

Featured Replies

Hi lads,

A couple of times now during the day, i've noticed that the main interior light is still on. But not at full power, its like it has stopped half-way when fading out (as when you turn the ignition on). While driving along it get brighter and darker, but never fully goes out.

Last night it worked fine, fading out when i turned the engine on, it seems to come on after that.

Nothing appears on the dash such as door open warning, and I cured it earlier by switching to always on then back again to 'on when doors open'.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Kyle

LED bulbs?

If so that's why...

There's enough residual power in the circuit to make

them glow dimly. They do in my Audi since swapping the

bulbs out for LEDS, but I have quite a few in there so it

creates an ambient lighting effect. They shut off fully when

the keys are out so I know mine arent draining my battery.

Nope, not LEDs all standard.

Ooh, dunno then....

There must be a dimming module somewhere

in the circuit, In the form of a variable resistor

I'd imagine. That must be on the blink.

I had this once, it was the courtesy light in the door, it was shorting out on the car door as it was broken, made all interior lights so random things when driving but stationary was on a slight amount. Might not be that but maybe worth checking the connections

Ah right, sounds like Kris might be onto something as my drivers interior light is in bits.

Yeah tape up the connections an I bet it'll sort it :)

Got a nee light on the way so it will hopefully be ok. It hasn't done it in a few days from what I've noticed. Thanks for your help.

Hope it sorts it bud! No worries!
