booked in for first service (in my ownership)

Featured Replies

Just booked the VRS in with Parkview in Reading for the first service since I brought it...not due till 69k (currently on 64k) but want to switch to fixed service schedule plus driving to cornwall second wk of october...anyone had experience of these guys before? I have asked for the fixed price major service but am always a bit dubious on whether a garage actually replaced things like fuel filter....spark plugs etc and as I have not used this garage I dont know if they are any good?!

I mentioned the fact the car sounds like a frickin tractor and he said oh ok we will investigate that (£100.80p) for an hours labour!!!! I told him to forget the investigation!!!

Cheers,

Russ

Have you gone for the fixed annual service (10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is reached first) for £129 or the variable service (upto 20,000 miles or 2 years, car measures oil viscosity, number of cold starts etc. and decides when it needs a service) for £249?

This is the max you should pay from a main dealer...

Charging an extra hours diagnostics labour on top of the service charge is unbelievable, all they are doing is listening under the bonnet whilst they are servicing the car!

Time to find another dealer.

I am going for the £249 service and moving from variable to fixed :) yes a bit of a con trying to charge over the service cost to listen to a noise...cheeky buggars but the garage is 2 mjns up the road and the next one is 20 miles away
