Ive not had much luck with the car over the past couple of weeks !

 

Just finished a wash and noticed what looked suspiciously like rust bubbling through on the tailgate seam. The spots a really small but from small things ....

 

Car was just out of warranty in August.

 

How should I approach it ?

I agree it does look like rust.  Very unfortunate, not heard of it there before.  Car has 3 years paint warranty and 12 years anti-rust.  I'd just take it back to the dealer and point to it and let them get in touch with Skoda UK with a report.

I would call and see you dealer.

I had the same problem, just take the car to the dealer and they will sort it. This is not uncommon...have a good check round the car for more rust the likley places are wheel arches and sills.

Plenty of threads on here for rust in the exact same place, although most of them are on the hatch.

 

It seems that the process used on this part of the tailgate isn't very good.
