I was bored of my tatty looking carbon fibre wrapped grill surround, so decided to do something a little different.

Take one wrapped grill:

And some real carbon fibre:

Lots of blood, sweat, time and carbon fibre splinters later, we have one real carbon fibre grill surround! It's not perfect and I still need to attach the badge, but I'm mega pleased with the results:

Comments welcome, along with any 'funky' ideas of what I could do with the badge recess if I choose not to reattach the original badge!

Looks good! I would finish it off with the new style badge, but not sure how the chrome would go?! Would need to see it on there first! Looks nice on my red Furby though....

Yeah it was a pro job by c6 carbon, getting the fog light surrounds done too

Been thinking of having a go for a while - would have to be perfect or it would bother me though. Unsure if I want to spend the money just to have a 'play'

Do any companies around the manchester area offer this? I'm a little tired for the chrome surround.

Any tips on where I cann get hold of the black and silver 'pasty' badge?  I'll be dropping the new vRS into a black and silver scheme so it would be good to lose the standard bonnet badge, especially as the current one is pretty tatty.

I love real carbon, for diy purposes, if it can't be perfect i'd stay with the 3m stuff or leave it to the pros.
