Bumper sill guard - what colour!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a bit of a dilemma, im planning on buying a rear bumper sill guard for my new Monte Carlo Estate, Why? i have 2 dogs and a buggy and the boot is in constant use and IMO think that the sill in to the boot is very vulnerable to damage. i had one fitted to the Octavia and it did the job perfectly.

Problem is i dont know what colour to go for with the Monte estate, im undecided between the following:

Black - its the same colour and texture as the side protection strips fitted to some fabias ( including my monte estate now!) and this colour will match the side trims.

or

Carbon effect - This is also black but, looking at the phtot they have, its a glossy black colour not matt black so think this will match the monte trims (because this ones glossy looking) but not sure on how much the carbon effect will stand out!

Any advice guys? anyone got one fitted to a monte?

Thanks

p.s: not sure if i can post it here but doing a quick search for Rear Bumper sill guard will bring up the website, rearguards.co.uk.

In my opinion, I don't think that the 'carbon look' from RGM (yes it's OK to post links) would go with anything on a Monte particularly -plus won't the shiny finish might show scratches more. I'd go for the black personally.

What colour is your Monte?

Remember they're more important for their protection than decoration. Pick the one that looks most durable and/or covers the largest area.

I have a white Monte.

Im gunna pick the more durable (and cheaper :-P) plain one.

dilemma solved! lol

Thanks

I think superskoda do a nice one for monte/fabia mk2

I put the OEM Skoda lip one on ours and it looked really good; transpired it was dealer fit only though so got a mechanic mate to get the VAG glue and template kit from TPS and do it for me.

It hid a multitude of sins (from dog dragging his claws) and actually looked better than it did without it.

I fitted an original Skoda one myself , providing you clean the paintwork properly first there will be nom problems in fitting.. Certainly saves a lot of damage.
