No deal to be had so had to walk away

Featured Replies

I would give it a go selling privately, if that's the sort of thing you want to try. Just be up front about it, be honest and advertise at a realistic price. Then head to a car broker like Carfile.net, althought their discounts are not as generous as when I bought mine last year.

I can't elaborate as I bought though Drive the Deal and they have a confideniality thing.

I understand fully.  At the time I bought mine, Marlborough in Isleworth, West London were the appointed DtD Skoda supplier and it happened that that is where I ordered from.  But that was over two yrs ago and it seems to change often.  As we speak Skoda doesn't appear on DtD so presumably the Devon dealer is no longer the appointed one.  (When did you take delivery of the Devon supplied car?).

That's odd, BF....I live in Devon and went to West London...and you CAME to Devon!  My local dealers weren't at all keen to do anything like the sort of deals available in London.  Where in Devon did you go?  I went to Marlborough in Isleworth and got on superbly with the fella there (and got a cracking deal)....but he's now moved to Colbornes of Guildford and I haven't bought anything from him there (yet?)

Do tell.....

Was that Mike? If so I've ordered my VRS with him very helpful and I think I got a good deal!

I went to Devon to get my LEAF, because it was cheaper... :D

270 miles!

Did you manage to drive it all the way back on a full charge lol ?

Took 6 days

saved £20 on fuel

spent £500 on hotels :giggle:

Totally agree top bloke, always helpful and puts up with my continual questions so must have the patience of a saint!

He's been around a bit and will have seen it all before and you're probably no different from plenty others, so I don't think you're at risk of upsetting him.  (By the way,....when you see him next, glance down at his shoes!  As well as being immaculate throughout, his shoes will cause you to squint - they're that shiny :-)

Now back to the topic...I suspect we've had a reminder already a short way back :-)

Don't give up. First dealer I tried was indifferent (no deal). Second one was top notch (deal).

Maybe the first had sold his quota for the month.

Blimey - sounds like a game show!
