Sometimes little puddles of water underneathe car

Featured Replies

I've had a search on the forum and havent come across anything which I would say is similar to what i'm experiencing.

Every so often I park the car up and there are puddles of water underneath the car (water doesnt smell or anything). I can never see it dripping though. Could it just be condensation from the air con?

The car doesnt use any coolant or oil and my washer bottle isnt leaking.

There are also no damp/wet patches in the car either (footwells etc).

Ive had the car running for a good 20 mins just now with the air con on the coldest temp and ther is absolutely nothing wet underneath the car or anywhere underneath the bonnet for that matter!

The other day I was waiting for the mrs outside sainsburys with the engine running and air con on and a little kid came over and said your cars leaking , and he was right something was but I couldnt for the life of me see what it was.

It's really baffling me! Lol

Where's it leaking from - abouts, not exactly? :)

A regular issue is the rad or rad temp sensor leaking. Forms puddles/damp patches on the ground near enough in line with the end of the rad apperture, (on the passenger side?!?!).

It has been sort of further back around the rear of the underpan/sump guard. There is also sometimes some near the front of each wheel. Well that has described pretty much what happened today when I saw it in a car park.

Sounds like the air con to me.  Like you, one day I'd have a huge puddle, the next, nothing so I was concerned but i captured the fluid and analysed it against everything else that goes in the car and it was certainly only water!

Were you that confident you drank it Dave89...? Lol im sure it is nothing that it shouldn't be I just thought I'd run it by you guys for a second opinion. I commute 150 miles a day so i'm sure it will get worse if it is going to :-) (and yes I do have breakdown cover)

It's coming from the evaporator drain of the a/c. No need to worry.
