Diesel specialists in Essex...?

Featured Replies

Any recommended diesel specialists in Essex that people use on a frequent basis?

Ideally not too expensive if possible.

Thanks :)

Why not VAG Specialists instead?

Why not VAG Specialists instead?

Can do, as long as its not a one of the stealerships.

I can't recommend any as all my work is done by my friend who is a Audi tech, I'm on the Suffolk/Essex border.

Where abouts in Essex are you?

Compression test and a chemical test of the coolant to diagnose if my head gasket is failing.

Ill bet money its the egr cooler leaking coolant internally.

Just connect the the 2 hoses together to bypass it.

Chemical testing dosent work on diesels

Didn't realise the EGR could leak internally? I figured it was only externally, how and where does it leak from?

I figured they'd be some type of test to see if exhaust gases are present in the coolant?

the exhaust gas cooler has the coolant from the heater circuit routed through it using the exhaust gasses to heat the coolant.

These fail and allow coolant to seep into egr pipe and give symptoms as your describing

best pic i can find its mounted behind inlet manifold and the 2 hoses connect by the heater hoses just above engine lifting bracket by airbox
