I guess its russian roulette until I actually get it and can see if the veins are any good etc! Anything else to look for does anyone know please

...or

I know turbo technics is down the road from me...once they have serviced though the price would shoot up to £460 ish and not much saving from new (although it would be like new)...

anyone reputable that can do it even cheaper than that ?

Or I could switch the core myself lol this vid makes it look too easy

Was worth a punt I think. It's not too hard to do there's a company on ebay that sells the turbo inserts

Cheers mate, I thought it was close to bugger all really for a Garrett ( I know not a PD150 but I'm happy with that )...surprised no one had bought it before and then felt maybe I'd bought a lemon perhaps as there is no miles on it....but the ebay seller does seem to have mainly good FB

If anything if I do the core myself its an exercise to learn about turbos (while my own cars turbo IS still working for now... although don't know what other checks the turbo guys do? Presume it involves checking the manifold for cracks, etc etc.

I think I need to be more and more patient with it and let the little demon in me off that heavy right boot lol !
