hmm not quite what i need , im just trying to find out what engins skoda have them selfs for the fabia and superb...is the 1.2 skoda's own design...as well as the 2.8 for the superb?

I'm pretty sure the 1.2 is the same one that goes in the Polo and Lupo. I was talking to the dealer when I was ordering my Fabia vRS and mentioned that sometimes my 1.2 polo made a weird rattleing noise when I started it and he said this was the same with the 1.2 in the Fabia as it was the same engine. There is a recent thread about the noise elsehwere on the forum and apparently it's nothing to worry about.

Skoda designed the 1.2. And of course rest of VAG use it.
