4x4 vRS

Featured Replies

Don't know about anyone else, but i would have ordered a 4x4 version of the vRS straight away! For me it would be the perfect car, go anywhere and always feel planted. I was very keen on a quatrro version of the audi a4, but couldn't get the spec i wanted for the budget i had.

I suggested it to the dealer who said that Skoda had been considering it - anyone else heard anything?

Can't see it happening myself

Likewise, we previously had an Audi A4 3.0 Quattro and a Mazda 6 MPS (4WD) and they were awesome.

I don't see Skoda doing it personally, more's the pity.

There was a rumour (there usually is!) but I'd be surprised if it did happen. It would also be the deciding factor for me tbh but I'm not holding my breath. :(

Did you know that in Czech, Skoda means "It's a pity"? No?

I'll get my coat.

I'd also buy a 4x4 Octy vRS in a flash.  Wasn't the Mk.1 available in 4x4?

I think many people would buy a 4x4 version if they could... Perhaps skoda should listen!

No, it was an elegance spec car but mechnically very similar to the VRS mk1. I owned one and its the car I regretted selling. :(

There were a few project journals on here I think where people have taken the mk1 4x4 1.8t elegnace and made it to basically a 4WD vRS.

There were some rumors about Skoda doing this. I'm sure I read about it somewhere in the motoring press, but I'm not holding my breath.

If they ever do I'll be straight down there to order one

NEVER happen... too much completion with an S3 etc... Skoda have never entered this market and I would place money that will not change... With that said, I would buy one without hesitation.

There's not really much point though, load of added weight car cart round everyday sapping performance and using more fuel...

I'm satisfied with my mkIII 1.8 Tsi 4x4 DSG :) Only disappointment is that the 2.0 TDI 4x4 DSG does not come for another year. That is the one I really wanted.. :)

Exactly what I did to mine. Koni suspension, r32 roll bars, VRS spider alloys, 312mm front brakes with decent pads and recaro seats from a hot Golf. 240bhp and 240lb/ft torque. The first car that made me realise the everyday benefits of awd. :)

How about they did it but held the ECU software back to create a 260bhp S3 or similar. They've done similar with the Passat R36/superb 3.6. If you are listening Skoda - you have a thread full of interested punters here!

How do you work out loads of added weight?! 65kg is less than the average male adult. Sapping performance? Quicker off the line, minimal transmission losses with haldex 5, better stability at speed and gives the same reliable traction no matter what the weather.

personally I think owners of the 1.8tsi 4x4 octy 3 should be banned from briskoda! Why? Because it upsets me every time I'm reminded its available outside the UK! ;)

The main reason I bought an S4 after selling my vRS was for the 4WD.

I pretty much knew Skoda wouldn't put it on the vRS so jumped ship early.

Are VAG bothered, nah! They made me spend more money so I think they are happy with their branding policies.

Not gonna happen.

Audi A3 Quattro, available with the VRS engines and Haldex 5. It's there's if you want it, you just have to pay full price. And it's not actually that much more.

And not actually very roomy.

the rear cabin space and boot are massively smaller than the octy though. :( Although the 14 speaker B&O system alone could sway me... ;)
