  1. This describes the exact issue we have with our T-ROC 1.5 TSI Man. We had the latest ECU update and are now over 1000 miles so if a running in map exists (not sure it does) then we are past that now. I tried 99RON fuel this week. I’ll see if it helps. I think the soft rear suspension and torsion bar don’t help when it does bunny hop pulling away.
  2. I think it affects too many cars to be DMF failure at such an early stage. Unless it is a mis-build? (i.e. it has the flywheel from the 1.0). The thing is, the T-ROC and Karoq are built in different factories. Is the engine produced at the same facility?
  3. It does it with auto hold on or off for me. I'm thinking it is either the quite high first gear, or the mapping of the fuelling at low RPM, or possibly the quite soft rear suspension and the torsion bar rear end. Many moons ago we had a Polo 1.4 16V (6R shape) and that was easy to bunny hop in as the rear end was soft.
  4. Hello all, just bought a VW T-ROC 1.5 TSI Manual and are having the same kangaroo issue as you lot are describing. If I let the clutch up with no throttle to pull away and then gently accelerate it’s fine, alternatively, 1800 rpm and drop the clutch and she’ll pull away cleanly. A normal 1400 ish RPM and it bunny hops down the road like a good’un. Quite frustrating.
  5. I've touched it in with stonechip paint and paint anyway. No doubt when it gets jacked next this will fall out! I'll just keep an eye on it. I still think it's a pretty rubbish way of jacking the car - there should be sacrificial jacking points that aren't part of the car's main structure if you ask me. Has anyone else noticed their jacking points losing paint?
  6. Hi folks, just reviving an old topic here - I jacked my car up the other day on the supplied boot jack. The underseal/paint combo came off (quite cleanly) to the primer (a grey yellow colour). A bit grumpy about it tbh! What I did was apply some stonechip paint with a brush (picture 1 shows an initial light coat) and then built it up a bit (pic 2) before painting in body colour with a Skoda touch up stick and then a couple of coats of clear coat. I'm hoping this stays put and doesn't affect the body warranty, but not very happy with the OEM jack if I'm honest!
  7. 2007 - 123K miles - FSH (it has a full book!) Skoda gave us a new service book to start stamping at the last service. MOT until September, Tax until September. Next Service due July. Elegance spec, so Heated Seats, A/C (Ice Cold), Park Assist, Alarm, Symphony CD player, Cruise, Trip Computer etc etc. 3 owners - one did most of the miles driving from the Kent coast to Gatwick every day on the motorway. The good - drives well, over 60mpg, doesn't use oil, doesn't leak oil, in fantastic condition for the mileage, 4 very good tyres, recent brakes all round (around 2000 miles ago), console bushes done in December, new rear wiper motor and washer, new wiper blades, all electrical gadgets work. The bad - one door handle doesn't quite spring back properly. It works perfectly, but maybe needs a little fettling and re-fitting this is due to it having had two door handles refitted on the nearside which had been damaged. The front has stone-chipping, but I've touched them in and machine polished the front of the car. There are a few other age related marks, as you would expect, but nothing to seriously bother you. £1995 ono - located in Chelmsford, Essex - try me - the car needs to go now really!
  8. Bit of an odd one really, but here we go: I've got an Amundsen in as new condition with Skoda code card. Latest maps are on SD card and included. Would anyone that has an RNS310/315 with RED VW illumination want to do a swap? Just throwing it out there...!
  9. Lane assist that couldn't be fixed was the main issue (it was dangerously wrenching the wheel to the left on test drive too). Some other quality issues too, but I won't go into too much detail as the dealer was very good to me..
  10. I rejected my O3 in the end due to problems with lane assist that the dealer couldn't fix. I sent my Columbus back to Skoda Teile for a refund, and am currently carless! (Well driving the Missus' Monte). I'll maybe come back to O3 ownership once they're a little more established I guess.
  11. I think it's more their unfamiliarity with the troubleshooting procedures on this latest chassis... once they've done a few, I'm sure they'll get quicker and more confident at it. Apparently, the tools to re-calibrate are thousands of pounds too...
  12. Nope - still broken and dealer can't fix it! Thinking of giving the car back as I've only had it for 8 of the 34 days I've owned it!
  13. Update today: Essentially, not good. Two dealers have looked at the retrofit now, and both are drawing blanks so far with their attempts to code the Columbus into the car. The Infotainment bus and CAN gateway are far more complex than before, and there are no procedures to guide them through coding. SUK have been consulted, but no info is forthcoming as yet from them. Ross-tech have been helpful, but are unable to get around the encrypted component protection (and never have I believe as this is used in Audis too and has been for some time). So, as my learned friends above have warned, retrofits in MQB cars are not as easy as they used to be, but more importantly are not as understood yet. I will most likely be sending the Columbus back for a refund once removed, but will try once more through a dealer and SUK to get it retrofitted. Ho-hum, you live and learn!
  14. Did you know that in Czech, Skoda means "It's a pity"? No? I'll get my coat. I'd also buy a 4x4 Octy vRS in a flash. Wasn't the Mk.1 available in 4x4?
  15. Progress on the Columbus... SUK have asked for part numbers in order to work out a code to enable it on VAS. Fingers crossed
