HELP! Ordered Yeti monday, they're telling me it'll be the facelift

Featured Replies

guys, they're making my order the facelift, saying it missed the deadline by the day.

The salesman has been a good guy etc, we got a blinding deal, but now mrs and I feel a little odd as we're getting we dont really like the look of.

Thoughts opinions and advice please!!!!

Thx

When i picked up mine on monday the salesman said any new factory orders would be the facelift version. I ordered mine at the end of July.

Might be worth seeing if there is any pre built stock available in the spec you want? You may have to compromise though.

He who hesitates etc etc

As said above, you might get one from stock or a cancelled order but its unlikely to be to your exact spec.

Its personal preferance but they can grow on you and look odd initially. I didn't like the Octavia MkII Face lift until i bought one now i prefer it. I still prefer my Pre FL wing mirrors but the front end of the FL has grown on me. I suspect the same will happen with the yeti and you have to think about resale value. It will be worth more just because its the later looking model.

Has your spec been matched?

Thanks guys, same spec and same price. Can't really argue /i guess, it's just a bit of 'cognitive dissonance' really.

I loved me thems funky round spotlights dammit!

You have to choose which is more important to you, the changes in the look or the "blinding deal"? If you really dislike the new look that much I suggest first a word with the salesman about whether you can cancel (and if so what might it cost you), probably tied in with what can be sourced in the current style, but if you don't like either answer then you either will have to grow to love your new Yeti (which I suspect you will because at the end of the day it's really the inside and how it drives that matters) or get some reliable legal advice.

(I also agree with Scribbler. Although I love the style of my Yeti, now 5 months old, inevitably when I come to resell it it will be one of last of the "old" model rather than one of the first of the "new" model and have to accept the value is likely to take a hit accordingly. As I'm planning on keeping mine at least 5 years and hopefully longer it's not such a problem but if you change cars every three years it could be a significant difference at trade in.

You will have better resale value and won't have a brand new car that looks like something from 2009..................  so erm, you are better off.  I've seen the FL in the metal and believe me it is a very, very MILD facelift.

Agreed. Going to have to learn to like it I guess :S

Bah!

^^ Oh, you will, you will !!  :sun:

I predicted that there would be a 5% price hike with the FL. Whilst a full price-list isn't available online, the SUK website states that the FL will start from £16,600. The online configurator only lets you configure an S spec but this starts from £15,850 (could you ever use the configurator to "build" an E spec car?) . If they've dispensed with the E spec cars with the FL, then this is a 5% price increase. So, as you're getting the same spec car, then I reckon you'll be saving a fair bit of money, plus getting a spruced up interior, and any other "extras" that the FL will bring.

I didn't notice prior to my previous post that the prices for the FL are on the SUK website. Looks like a £600 to £700 price hike per model. And no E spec.

Yep it would seem that Monday was the last day to order an old one... and even then it wasnt guaranteed you will get one.... so dithered and let the opportunity go...

So its new indoor / outdoor model, none of which seem to have sat nav unless you go for an L&K, so Cuthbert will stay on fleet for another year then it will be back to a Superb as will need the space and economy..

Great result, enjoy.

Looks like you get your own set of "funky round spotlights", congrats! It's great when things eventually pan out in your favour, despite some initial setbacks. I pick up my own (admittedly lower rent) set next Tuesday. Who will be first to post some pictures here I wonder?

Glad to read that you got what you wanted. An L & K too, very posh! Another plus is that you're getting it a lot quicker, no ferry watching!

Get them pics up soon!

It's always good to let SWMBO have a say in the matter, then if 'owt goes wrong........
