SERVICE- why do AF keep it hidden

Featured Replies

I thought great service had emigrated from these shores, and certainly after a call to my last broker .I found two things today with a quote from Flux . I could hear the smile on the other end .NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH EFFORT or trouble. If she couldn't answer ,she found out. Hold time a bit too long, she came on to apologise . Only thing better was the price ,and finding out I'd misread the level of cover on breakdown .

Dan, on the back of the price of my car quote -I asked for a home quote. Sadly you can't meet/beat Saga, on price. BUT,your folks again beat Saga on a lot of other things. helpefulness/ customer relationships/ level of service .I regularly ,on annual premium time check out online prices .Saga on line could give me a lower excess with same level of cover and same price . ( I don't expect you to comment ), but SAGA could not comment on this . I put it down to "brand new customer" syndrom ,so as I have quotes from other brokers ,within pence of Saga, I 've put it to SAGA to honour the online quote and retain my business or I take it elsewhwere. Many thanks for your staff help . Those that I've had dealings with can expect a more than positive survey response . My only regret is tghat "excellent" is the max score atainable.

Again , I contacted AF to go ahead ,as the quote was more than competative. I was not happy with the excess, but this was reduced. Full marks to AF.

I paid for the product to get a statement of facts. Again, some of this is personal ,so I won't reveal the whole story. I sent an e mail with questions ,and did contact AF  for advice

I did ask if the driving other vehicles extension was on non insured cars . It's not, but this is hidden in clauses. The young lady looked at my observations and said it would be referred to management  - perhaps, Dan might like to make this CLEAR on policy statements.

Mleage- I'd not been asked for any - and this was set at 64k , on a nine yer old car- a bit ambitious. I have a copy of my reply to AF ,if Dan wishes to see it. HOWEVER- the young lady at AF Customer services went out of the way ,above and beyond any (IMHO) bounds of duty of customer care to solve my problems. AF , might have problems, but IT'S  HOW RESOLUTION IS ACHIEVED that sets an organisaion above competition .

I was happy with AF before I moved on, had a couple of years out of them. The whole not being insured to drive other vehicles I have had on all but my 1st ever policy and inc 2 AF ones. It has always been clearly worded to the effect of "with the permission of the owner and provided it is otherwise insured" and always has been cover extended to such use as 3rd party only, regardless of level of cover on my insured vehicle on policy. It would be easy to get insurance otherwise just having say a policy on a 1.0 15 year old VW Polo and then using the extension to drive a BMW M5. I think that is why it is like this on a standard policy.

Hi,

With regards to having the driving other cars benefit the other vehicle must already be insured as if it isn't then legally it has to SORN.

Dan
