Indicator problem

Featured Replies

The stalk plugs into the steering controller so could that be the cause, or the wiring.

It's simple (ish)

1. If the controller is receiving a voltage from the indicator switch (physically checked at the wire on the BCM not using live data) when you activate the high beam, then it's a switch / wiring problem

2. If the controller is not receiving the voltage it is a module problem

I can dig out the wiring diagram if you are confident to carry out these tests?

I wouldn't be confident enough to go at this myself xpower, a vag guy said to me it might a lighting control unit in behind the glove box?

The bcm that controls the lighting functions sits above the pedals, very easy to see and get to.

Hi

I have a skoda octovia 2.0. The problem is when i apply left singnal, it indicate right for 1 or 2 second then comes back to the left and when i apply right, it indicate left for 1 or 2 second then comes back to right. Its not happening all the time but quite a lot. Any idea pls thanks

It's the indicator stalk, this happens when the internal contacts either wear or get dirty.

Try spraying a bit of WD40 in where the stalk enters the steering column shroud. If this doesn't work it is a steering wheel off job for either a proper clean or replacement.

Hi thanks a lot a few short spray of wd40 worked well really appreciate thanks.
