LCR Subframe/control arms conversion parts list please

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My octy is very standard atm, I am looking to lower it with coilovers and got some land rover mondials to go on. But i want to improve the handling so have looked at the LCR s/frame conversion, but there is no difinitive list of what parts? Can some one let me know every part i will need bolts control arms etc etc. What rack should i use, also is there a guide for a complete conversion?

Help would be great.

Thanks

Paddy

Think Lloyd just added this link http://www.briskoda....-2#entry3448526

as a few doing this mod at the moment

I did it few years back building up the parts over time. A lot second hand and some refurbished and all bolts and nuts new.

That thread link will get you all the parts and info you need.

Your subframe is the same as a LCR(apart from the bushes which can be replaced)  unless you are talking with Hubs, Steering rack and wishbones and FARB all attached as that is the way to go to reduce stripping down time, just swap over then.

The Hub is what the suspension strut, steering rack arms and wishbone ball joints bolt to.

Your wheels bolt to the Hub Flanges that are pressed into the hub with bearings (officially it is called the Hub carrier)

okay so retain my current hub flanges?

okay so retain my current hub flanges?

Yes but i would expect that the LCR hub will come with flanges already in and they are all the same for FWD cars. The flanges are different on R32,Audi TT 225 and S3 being 4WD. However the rest of the TT/S3/R32 front subframe parts are the sane as LCR so if you are stick finding a LCR set up those other cars are good to get to.
