laneassist still on vrs apparently

Featured Replies

Been to the dealers regarding this issue before I changed the order, and he rang up skoda uk whilst I was with him, this is the advantage of the smaller dealer, you can deal with the owner, rather than some salesman who wont give a monkeys cos all he wants is your cash, anyway,he was told lane assist will still be on the vrs as its std,he said that they are only dropping it from being ordered as an option for non std fitment models, the.cornering foglights have never been generally fitted and he admitted the book was wrong, also the book states that front armrest is std,but then optional in the optionslist,so from that I have to take it as read that its fitted then kick off if it dont have it,which the dealer know I will

There's never been any question is lane await being dropped from the vRS. All the things that are bein dropped are being dropped as options so cars that come with it as standard can be built.

As for the armrest, yes it's standard, mine has one.

As above the vRS has an armrest, no option in the configurator and you can see it in the interior shots anyway. Its not air conditioned like it was in the Mk2 though, not that it matters

Well I wouldn't call the mkII air-conditioned..... It was more like being coughed on by an asthmatic mouse....

Cooled glovebox instead of the armrest I believe.

The MK2 also had a cooled glovebox.

tHats not how other topics read, never mind mine should have it then, complete with armrest

I also have been into dealers this afternoon for clarity on Lane assist on VRS.  After talking to salesman and general manager, its seems they are fustrated with Skoda UK with lack of information.  I ordered mine 2nd Sept and still dont have a code 10, some one else who ordered his 2 weeks before me has gone from week 47 to week 4 (code 10), its fustrating for them as they cant give out any solid information to customers.

As to Lane assist, if its spec'd, it will be fitted, but who knows what build week you will have.  I did ask if i removed this option would i get my car build sooner, answer was who knows.  If get a 2014 build date i wont accept the car until 14 plates, they seemed more than happy to accept this (but i dont really want to wait 6 months from order).

This is my first and last time buying a new car.

You can't remove lane assist from a vRS as it's not an option it's standard equipment.

There seems to be a lot of confusion and misinformation floating around. I ordered a VRS TODAY and was told AAC & Lane Assist have been dropped from the spec indefinitely. It would be nice if someone with concrete info could clarify.

As I have stated "IF" Skoda do remove it then they must compensate for the removal of the item(s), what is really needed here is someone with a legal background to define what the rights of purchasers are when it comes to situations like this, because all we're seemingly getting is rumour & conjecture about what is or isn't happening with this vehicle.

I think the more useful feature it gains as a consequence is light assistant (the auto lights, wipers and dipping mirror). I could live without lane assist providing the car retains this; perhaps they could add high beam assist instead?

Tragedy would be if they did away for it entirely for a standard breakaway mirror SE style.

VAG do this sort of thing all the time though. I remember the MK5 GT spec Golfs used to come with 2 zone climate.....all of a sudden they came with climatic (basically manual temp controlled AC).

You can switch the lane assist off in the car menu. I have disabled mine.
