idle adjustment with vcds on 1.9tdi octavia

Featured Replies

my mk1 skoda octavia 1.9 tdi  ticks over at 903rpm whether its cold or hot, just wondered if this idle speed can be adjusted or not, i know in my old peugeot 306 it had a cold and warm setting on the pump.

thanks

Yes, it can be adjusted with VCDS, but why are looking to change it?

just thought it was ticking over a little high, ive always liked my vars to tick over a little lower thats all  :)

903rpm is fine and is how it left the factory. Unless you have removed something such as power steering or changed the alternator, I wouldn't lower it.

okey dokey thanks, will leave it alone then  :)

The Idle can be adjusted in the map but not reliably with vcds.

I like to have my car tick over at 975 until 70 degrees then back down to 903rpm.

It totally masks the dogbone mount I had uprated.

Below 900rpm, the 8v tdis are a bit of a pig. The 16v 2.0tdi runs at 750 ish rpm.
