2004 Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi Starting / Cranking problem. HELP REQUIRED!

Featured Replies

Hiya All

Got a 2004 Skoda Octavia 1.9 Tdi BJB ENGINE I think.

Has problem cranking to start, however once started you can go to Edinburgh to London easy!!

Changed crankshaft sensor, speed sensor, gave it full service, swapped batteries, still same problem.

Changed starter and cranks slightly better but still can take upto 1min before cranking and starting.

Car showing glowplug and engine management light on dashboard :(

Anyone had this problem or any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks All

Get it scanned to find out what faults are present. Will be easier than randomly changing components.

I think it is under the rocker cover.

Have you checked all the relevant wiring?  All the way back to the ECU

On search for a decent electrician.. took it to a few local ones they all put their diagnostics and say change sensor

So looking for someone to start checking the wiring.. any decent ones you know??
