MPG over a year

Featured Replies

Have a look at my signature and you will be able to see my mpg from new. The green line does seem to be a sweet engine, more than once I have achieved a mpg of +70mpg, admittedly this was a leisurely drive home on the M1 at 56 mph but it does show what is possible. I'm happy with the monster. Would be interested to hear other Green line owners think

I'm averaging around 50mpg with my 110bhp 2wd. No difference in consumption between 60 and just under 70mph (?68-69) but 70 and above and you take a definite hit. I've done quite a lot of motorway miles over the 3000 clocked up over the last 6 weeks of new ownership.

Richard,my Greenline has averaged around 48/53 mpg since new.

Now on 23,000 miles.

This last week or so that is down to around 45/46mpg ,but in this colder weather it takes ages to get Hot, especially the oil temp.

Those are maxidot figures but I've found them almost 100% accurate.

My previous 170 tdi Yeti managed a genuine 38/43 mpg,but the maxidot "suggested " much better ,being about 10% optimistic.

Mine is gradually creeping up after 6.5k miles and  now averaging 40.7, I expect it will increase further when it becomes more run-in. I have to admit I am no boy racer as her indoors tells me off if I drive too fast

I was suprised to find my 170 at 40.6 mpg not as good as my old 140 at 42.2, ( I use fuelly to record fill ups)

Maybe I need to run it in for another 10,000!

Maybe I need to run it in for another 10,000!

It would take me 2.5 years to do 10k, never mind ”another 10k" :)

41.4mpg average over 18,000 miles (rolled over to that as I parked this morning). Best 43.6, worst 35.9. It's not quite 18 months old, and is now asking for its first service in 500 miles or so.

With a glance back at my earlier post...#9...

I've just finished a tankful (stop-to-stop) over what I guess might be average journeys for many here, although very rare for me - a good mix of motorway and A roads as well as my usual country 'lanes'.  Fuelly shows it as 42.5 mpg, equalling the previous best tank.  I'm even more content!

Over 6.5k miles now and brim to brim average of 43. Noteably worse on cold days. Previous Freelander over same routes was 37 - Golf (petrol 1.4) was 45 so pretty good.

13 months and 8.2k miles, the average for my 1.2 petrol is 40.7 mph. Not bad at all
