Just to ask if i decat my exhaust will I notice a difference in power????

I didn't notice one in mine mate to be honest, sounds a bit loud under boost aswell

No gains in power wise from a decat on a diesel I think it just spools a bit faster

Mine seems to spool slightly quicker and I think it might also over boost slightly but it could be that I had the boost pipe off that it showing a slight over boost on the gauge. Not had any problems with it though or the eml coming on

I know it's a different engine but this gained around 8bhp was it just from the back box removed?

I'm getting my PD130 decatted, along with the backbox and midbox removed tomorrow so I will report back what it feels like after

I didnt notice much when I fitted my miltek but when I fitted my Piper decat it feel a bit quicker, it's larger than the others. Nothing major though, and this is on a hyrbid turbo

mine started making it after I got mine done, absolutely hated it before my car started making it but now I quite like it ha

On a stock exhaust, remapped it will just help the turbo spool a little earlier so no real power increase anywhere in the rev range - possibly a minute bit up top.

When people do the mufflerectomy, Where is the pipe replaced from? like where is there a join in the standard system? If I'm right in thinking, the standard exhaust is mild and custom places will use stainless so it'll have to be a whole section of the exhaust?

I'm certain tony banks welded stainless to mild on my focus tdci before?

Pretty sure you can weld it to a normal exhaust, mine at the min is a performance back box to the standard system. I'm excited about having a 3" rolled out tip on, fed up of having a twin like everyone else

Just got back from having mine done. It feels a lot more lively and wants to rev so much easier. I also managed to get the traction control light on in second gear a few times which I've never managed before! (This is a seat ibiza sport pd130)

 

I can't seem to hear the turbo spooling or any owl noise though but I think I have a boost leak somewhere so that's probably preventing that from happening.

So you've got a straight pipe off the turbo now then? I'm surprised its not making the owl noise

Yup. With my car there is a midbox too, I don't think your vRS's have one so it's essentially a full straight through system from the turbo to the tail pipe with absolutely no restrictions in terms of boxes etc.

 

I'm a bit disheartened because it probably means something isn't working quite right.

Not all of them do it its a lottery as to whether they do or not. I've got a feeling mine won't when I get the mufflerectomy done tomorrow as I was was expecting it to do it with the decat and back box and it doesn't. Might be worth getting a boost gauge if your worried its got a boost leak, easy to install and handy to have

I've got one in my cupboard from my old car but not sure where to plumb it in without tapping a hole?

Just Plumb other into the top pipe like so and there's a grommet behind the glove box to route it through and mine is mounted here

Found this dyno graph which is encouraging, looks like it does add a little power and torque but not earth shattering and spool 100-150rpm sooner.

 

So how much should I be looking at just for backbox chopping and a pipe welded in if I retain my oem twin tips?

I'v just had a cat back miltek put on my fabia by shark perfomance. It sounded better and more grunty no gains in power. And then I'v just gone back a few days ago to have the decat fitted to make it turbo back! And it sounds loads better. I personally have seen less lag in 1st and second seems to kick in faster!!
