Transcend SD card

Featured Replies

I ordered a premium quality Verbatim memory card from mymemory on ebay and received a Transcend card. Have I been diddled or are they equivalent in quality?

Thanks

Adam

I buy Transcend cards in preference to other brands, with no failures in SD, microSD or USB products over the last five years or so. I have a 32GB SD card in the Bolero that's worked well, after issues with several 'premium' Sandisk cards.

Ok thanks for that, I won't worry about it then.

Cheers

Adam

I'd say they were on a par with each other so long as class & transfer speeds are the same.

If it were a bigger purchase I'd be complaining that they had sent the wrong product though.

Personally due to too many fakes, I wouldn't buy memory cards on ebay.

Generally I would agree with that statement but, having bought from My Memory on several occasions (mostly website but also eBay) and had no issues with SanDisk memory cards (of which there are many stories of fakes floating around), I would say that in my experience Adam is unlikely to have an issue with products from this seller.

I normally go down the My Memory or 7dayshop route, although I recently got a Lexar  Premium 32Gb card from Ebuyer at a good price

7 Day Shop gets my vote as well. I use them for lots of stuff.

Thanks guys, I have used mymemory before on recommendation (I am wary about eBay!!) and they have been good.

Anyhow opened the package to find what I thought was a micro sd inside a sd card adaptor to actually be a standard sd card!! So it is a mixup and I am on to them!

Wont use Ebay for any reason, if a company has a shop front away from Ebay, then use that to avoid Ebays abusive marketing tactics.

I have used 7dayshop a couple of times and found them to be fast and good to deal with when there are problems, HOWEVER, some of the SD cards they sell are cheap tat - I had a string of problems with some of their "Own Brand" ones, including one dying after 10 seconds of use, class 10 cards acting like class 1 cards, and plastics so soft the write protect tabs kept coming out and the "fins between the contacts fell apart.

Transcend are one of the big companies in Flash memory, I use a lot of their cards and havent had one fail yet, even the 8 year old  cards I bought for my car's SD player and my digital camera(s) are still going strong, and feel more like class 10 than the ones mentioned above, even though they are only class 1.

I have a 701 100% feedback record on eBay :)

Wouldn't buy a memory card there
