Sorry, Another Discs and Pads Recommendations Thread

Featured Replies

So my brake pads are pretty much done with so need some new ones. Wanting some discs and pads that have decent bite from cold and are good on the road but also half decent on track. Anyone have any recommendations?

I should say that whatever I get will be paired with ATE Super Blue brake fluid.

I would buy Pagid pads and discs as these are more than good enough for daily driving.

I have read on here that ATE super blue is damaging to the rubbers in your brake system, it also states on the tin that it is not suitable for road use. Why would you use super blue?  I bought Gulf 800 brake fluid for the high temperature properties.

another one for pagid discs and ebc redstuff pads is a nice upgrade if you are after a pad with more bit and less dust

Ah right I used Super Blue in my Mk1 Fabia vRS, came highly recommended in the Fabia forum as good with the 312mm brake upgrade. Is there something different with Octavias which makes it risky to use?

Used Pagid pads before, seemed pretty good. Heard the odd bad story about EBC brakes. Like the low dust properties of them though.

not just Octy's, I read it as it was no good for standard brake systems, this of course might be totally wrong, after all it was free advice.....

A good DOT 4 will be more than good enough.

Red stuff pads will reduce brake dust on your wheels, so a good call. I have used yellow stuff, found them to have really good bite on track
