Build Date Information

Featured Replies

Why cant the dealers give better information on expected build dates? I ordered my Octy vRS nearly four weeks ago now, and still have not had any other information. than it might be here December / January time.

They took my cash deposit off me at the time of ordering and even asking the dealership for an update, i get sorry we don't have any more info yet!!!!

All they can say is that the order has been accepted at the factory, but to me that doesn't seem much to go on.

Would i be right in assuming this is your first factory order octavia?

Took me 4-5 weeks to get a build date (week 43) and I had to get it from SUK as all the dealer could tell me at the time was December, they didn't know if that was for build or delivery at the time. Mine actually came forward to week 41 and is currently sitting at Emden awaiting shipping to the UK.

I think the dealers only get info once a week and even then their data seems to be out of date sometimes. If you want the most upto date info contact SUK.

The dealers have access to the factory progress sheet, so in theory should be able to see the latest info.   My dealer sent me copies of the screen info whenever I asked for it & it included quite a lot of info including the provisional build week & subsequently the actual build week.

It could well be that some dealers cannot be ar**d to put themselves out and look.  I did speak to Skoda UK once and they confirmed that they look at the same computer screen as do the dealers so it appears there is no benefit in going direct to them.

It's whether the dealer can be bothered, if they can't be a*sed now what happens when you have a problem. My dealer All Electric in Birmingham have been fine so far. I haven't even been in there yet as all done on phone and email!!

Kal is happy to give updates

My problem was with dealer and balls to me as a customer

No reply emails No phone calls it drove me mad just an email to say still at this date or moved to this date would have helped me keep sane

Land rover managed it with our evoque ,VW look to be managing it but skoda dealer nothing

But my anx is over I hope as my car is at port ready to be shipped here I hope !

Vauxhall have https://www.trackmyvauxhall.co.uk

Your dealer makes a one-off call to you giving you a tracking id and from thereon in he never has to deal with you again.

Don't know why other manufacturers don't adopt it, it would make their dealers lives a lot easier.

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered my vRS Hatch on 2nd September..

spoke to the dealer last week, he told me that he will call me in  3 weeks to let me know if there build  / deliver date...

How do I find out by myself ??

It would be great if Skoda had Track n Trace!!

Personally I wouldn't accept that from the dealer. You are the customer spending a lot of money. They can look on the Skoda factory website for updates as often as they like and should be doing so. My dealer not only checked regularly but also emailed me screen dumps of the factory order form when the status changed. If you contact Skoda UK they can update you but the dealer should be doing that as it only takes him a couple of minutes. If nothing has changed at least you are kept up to date.

Track & trace would be great but fobbing you off with letting you know in 3 weeks IMHO is unacceptable.

Give Skoda UK a bell. I've just done so and my vrs hatch has gone confirmed for week 45!

Why on earth should customers have to spend time & money ringing Skoda UK - I thought Skoda appoint & pay dealers to sell their products & look after customers. Their job doesn't stop as soon as they get a signature on an order form.

I am aware of that but my point is that dealers should be looking after customers & part of that is keeping us up to date with info. If we have to contact Skoda what are dealers for?????????

Lucky you, I ordered 20th September and been told I won't get it until middle of February. I'm gutted!

Have you had ACC or front assist or anything?

Genuinely no idea how they work through their orders. I'm guessing a lot is to do with dealer allocation.

I think you're right, dealer allocation has a lot to do with it, from my own experiences.

My build week has just been removed... Was due to be built end of November...Now no date.... Time will tell....

Octavia TSI DSG Hatch with Sat Sound, Premium Sound and Black Pack...

Oh well..

No just got a few little extras. SUK are telling me it's due to lane assist shortage. I would love to see how they choose the car allocation, I think they have a weekly draw out of a hat!

Last couple of times I've tried it for confirming spec info on the Octy III, I've had no response  :wonder:

With Skoda's growing popularity there dealer network seems to be growing from garages which lived and breathed Skoda to just being ad on's on huge dealerships. The vast majority of these massive dealerships with their commission / bonus based pay and high staff turnover are the same ones that Skoda used to whoop on customer satisfaction. The downside is Skoda customers get the same service as everyone else which is poorer than they are used to.

The only way to get 'Skoda' service is to involve Skoda. I've bought two Skoda's since August and I've had a few issues, the dealer said they would sort it and possibly would have, eventually, but by contacting Skoda on a 30 - 60 second online form my issues got sorted soon after.

One issue for example was the PID for my wife's citigo, which still hadn't turned up 3 weeks after she collected the car. Dealerships parts man said well I've ordered it, it's with Skoda and he was content that was all he should / needed to do even after 3 weeks. I contacted SUK via the website and got a call the next day. As it turned out it seamed something had gone wrong at Skoda's end of the ordering process but I'm sure if the dealership chased it it would been sorted much sooner.

So yes it's not great but it's the system we've got and to get results we need to 'play the game'. Change takes time but you get your issues sorted and then complain about the process, I'm sure SUK will get pretty sick of having to deal with all the issues and that will filter down eventually, an unfortunate side affect of big business.

I ordered my deisel Octavia VRS hatch on 23/09/13. I was given a twelve to fourteen week lead time. I paid my deposit then a couple of weeks later was informed my order had been accepted by the factory with a provisional build week 11 (10/03/14). I spoke to SUK today who confirmed that due to problems with lane assist there is a six / eight week delay on top of the estimated twelve week lead time. My provisional build week has now been removed from the system. Happy days !

Skoda uk came back to me today,

They gave me a SIL  Number, but told me it was on stated 0 of 20

they tell me when it's on 20 add 4.5 weeks to arrive in the dealership..

Don't look good for a Christmas delivery...

Might get it by Easter, being a 14 plate not 63 plate
