Just wondered if anyone else has tried in vain to have a towbar fitted to thier VRS ? I've tried everywhere.............main dealers, specilaist towbar suppliers etc. and all tell me that there is no towbar available for the VRS................driving me nuts as its absolutely perfect for towing my bike trailer.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions ?

Hi Mate.

This is one very hot topic and if you do a seach you will find loads of info and even a petition to sign.

There isn't a towbar available for the vRS Fabia and Skoda do not recommend towing with the vRS.

Some towbars will fit with a bit of bumper cutting but you will need to check with your insurance about towing with a car not recommended for towing by it's manufacturer.

The legal issue is a bit grey as well.

There as bit older thread knocking around with a how to IIRC and some pictures.

As Lee says the VRS doesn't have type approval for towing in the UK.

Might see if my mate can knock me up a custom towbar for mine.

Once the know-how is in place there might be a group buy on the cards.

Shouldn't be a problem for J, you know with yours not being a VRS and all that :peepwall:

You might find it a little expensive getting it type approved to the relevant EU directive though.
