Air con

Featured Replies

Hi can any one help my 2011 Octavia greenline has an air con problem, in June the aircon packed in skoda dealer quoted £80 for a re gas but on inspection found that the condenser was faulty no charge repaired under warranty.

Just been in for its first service and informed that the condenser was damage due to the plastic engine shield hitting it,and asked me if I had had an accident by running over something, the underside of the car shows no sign of an impact and is in perfect condition, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like someone is trying to get out of some warranty work.

The condenser is on the FRONT of the car behind the bumper. There are no engine shields any where near it.  There is the radiator between the engine and the condenser.

The only shield anywhere near it is the engine under tray but that would have to do something spectacular to get to the condenser

Thread moved to octavia section.

there is a plastic cowel that sits between the bumper and th condenser, sometimes these can bust through if the front has been knocked, I've seen golfs before where somebody had reversed into the front bumper and it showed no signs of any damage at all except the radiator had a hole in.

Thanks for all your suggestions there was no body damage to the car,

It was caused by a stone chip hitting the centre of the condenser, so it's down to me but Skoda Liverpool have given me 15% off also Skoda customer care also gave me 15% off the labour charge as a gesture of goodwill, but it's still £332 I'm now thinking of ways to protect it for the future.
