Just bought an ex-demo Elegance Hatch

Featured Replies

As per title - just done a deal on a April 2013 Elegance Hatch in Candy White, 2.0 TDI DSG

Plenty of extras

Columbus

Canton

Winter Pack

Xenons with black cornering fogs

18" Golus Alloys

LED Tail Lights

Bluetooth+

Spare Wheel

Couldn't stand the lottery on the delivery times, and couldn't wait 12+ weeks

Just wish it had leather and Front Assist, but he-ho

So, my L&K Estate with loads of mods is for sale, see the Cars for Sale section - a bargain at £3k!

How much did you get the Ex-Demo for? Is it a showroom one or a test-drive car?

It was the dealer demonstrator, has done 9k miles but I have got it on the low rate PCP with the free servicing.

Took it for an hour test drive today and couldn't find a fault no matter how hard I tried.

Lets just say it was about £90 a month cheaper than the same spec new on PCP with the same deposit, and the residual is about a grand and a half less. Residual doesnt bother me as I am likely to keep it anyway, just less money to find in 3 years time LOL!

Great spec I'm envious seeing Canton and Columbus, ....I wouldn't worry about not having leather trim, it isn't very good quality, you are better off with the standard alcantara

Forgot, I got flappy paddles as well so it will be just like driving an xbox LOL

Sounds great Andy. When do you pick up?

And which dealer?

As soon as I sell the beast, got it from Simpson's in Colne

Getting plenty of interest from Autotrader today, so hopefully shouldn't be too long before I am in the new one.

Can't wait for DSG - I got told off by the salesman for left foot braking when I took it out for a spin!

Seeing as my cousin has just run a Chevvy Firenza V8 in the Rally Legend in Italy with Jimmy McRae driving I think I am allowed to left foot brake LOL!

I don't drive like this by the way! (I wish I knew how to!)

And I have stop/start, which freaked me out - I wondered how I had managed to stall a DSG!

Be a big change from a pudding stirrer...will have to look out for it.  Probably be easier to see me tbh....

Who did you deal with ? Was it the main man, Chris ?

Nope, Ryan. TBH the Candy White seems a lot whiter and a lot less cream than on the O2 so you should be able to see me as well. New Briskoda sticker is in the back window already, as well as the Richbrook Briskoda tax disc holder I treated myself to. Funnily enough the Simpsons rear window sticker accidentally came off at the same time.

Many congrats on the new car Andy. Hope she gives the same good service as the L&K has done.

Looking forward to seeing her.

Mike

Yep - be good to meet up again soon now you have defected to the wrong side of the Pennines. Remember your passport or we wont let you over the border  :giggle:

I know there's a few hills Mike, but I'm sure you'll manage OK :P

Congrats again on the new car Andy - hopefully catch up with you at some point.

Yep, be good to meet up. Done 500 miles today and boy what a difference DSG makes! Averaged over 61 to the gallon coming back from London, I'll fill up and see what the real figure is but it seems on the O3 it is pessimistic, rather than optimistic like the O2. If I've averaged 55 across the tank I'll be happy, as I did 50 miles of 'spirited' driving over Grane road and the A56 between Haslingden and Hapton to test out the flappy paddles B-)

According to Fuelly, 55.3mpg, pretty much what the on-board computer thought for that tank, pretty impressed with that at 11.6p per mile!

Congratulations

get some pics up

Will do Eddie, its filthy after the last two days, but I'll grab some tomorrow and get them up after I have given it a wash and wax :-)

Starting on the coding tweaks, needle sweep (staging) enabled so far, any tips on anything else for the MQB platform? Looking at enabling auto rain closing permanently and seeing what else is available to play with.

Especially for Eddie, dealers pics. It is a fair bit dirtier now!

All sounding good Andy - you using VCDS Beta for the MQB stuff?

  • Author

The full release (12.12 ?) seems to be the most comprehensive at the moment

Gone for DSG I see, don't think you'll regret it. You might with white though, especially this winter !

Yep, sorry - forgotten they'd now included MQB in the latest full release now. When V11.x was still the latest full release, you really had to use the Beta to get into anything MQB specific.
