I'm having a bit of problems with my R reg felicia 1.3 LXi.

The engine keeps cutting out as i am driving, both at low speeds and high. The engine just cuts out as if no fuel is getting to it. Most of the time it restarts once i have pull over and stopped. However a few times it has not restarted straight away. On one occasion i have called out the AA and have been told it is probably a problem with sensors.

My wifes 1.3 GL had a simalar problem, engine would cut out mainly at low speed. It did indeed turn out to be one of the sensors (I can't remember which one). The dealer hooked the computer up to the car and found the problem almost at once. If your dealer has changed the wrong parts ask him to try again and suggest that you expect the money that you have already paid to go towards the cost of the proper repair.

Is there a fuel sensor which controls the flow of petrol into the engine? If so, that could be at fault...

Ps: you may gather my knowledge of engines extends to... it sits under the bonnet!

BTW: the title of this thread suggests you're cutting out the engine to make way for a new one... a 1.8T perhaps, sir?

if engine just dies (as if you just turn key off) then will restart and you have engine speed sensor then you will have a 99% chance of a dodgy fuel pump.

See the thread "TDI sudden death syndrome" in this forum. You may have same problem I did...it's certainly worth seeing if you have an old (black) "relay 109" [ECU power supply relay] or a new silver one, and replacing it if it's the old sort. It's only
