Lane change Flash - mind of its own

Featured Replies

A while back I had the flashes increased from the standard 3 to, what I consider more realistic, 5. All worked fine until, on a journey one day, I noticed they'd reverted to 3 - without any kind of intervention.

I was about the borrow a VCDS lead when 24hrs later things went back to 5, again nothing had been changed.

That state remained for months, then today, same again. Dropped to 3, and has now gone back to 5, all without any kind of intervention.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this happening. :wonder:

do you have a maxidot?

sometimes a factory reset setting in there can fix this, but you may need vcds afterwards

also i noticed the other day when i used my second key that a lot of the settings were different in the maxidot to my main key

Yes, maxidot. The thing that gets me is that it stayed at 5 for quite a while, the blip back to 3 was very short lived - both times. Even if I reset the maxidot today the way things have gone it could be months before it does its self change thing again, if at all.

Puzzled...

Only ever used the main key, apart from when it was brand new to test.

I've had this happen (only once)3 to 5, it puzzled me also.

It's reverted back to 3 now which I'm happy with.

Anybody have a reason for this occurrence?

Things I do know...

Each remote key has its own settings. Anything programmed in maxidot MFD is stored on the key in the ignition at the time so your key can have your preferences and the other key have the other driver's.

Things I'm not so sure of...

Is it the same scenario with VCDS programming of other options?

Think yourself lucky.

My vRS at least was consistent in the number of flashes but often when lifting the stalk up in would indicate left and vice versa!

Now that is puzzling!

CFB - Tnx, useful to know.
