Replacment cone filter?

Featured Replies

After taking my bumper off iv noticed my cone filter on the end of my abd Cai is nackered I mean not just dirty it's bent, rusty so need a good Replacment iv look at ram air, piper cross, green cotton, k&n. Most of them are only rated too 280bhp I need about 350bhp the only ones that I like are Sierra cosworth group A ones but they are massive and I'm not paying £126 for a cone!

Any ideas? THANKS

Honda s2000 filter is flavour of the month amongst VAG owners, get one from ECP or GSF and an adapter for about £6 off eBay. Filters are cheap too, less than £18.

That won't ft a ABD CAI i don't think (as ABD are 3" , well mine is) and Frankly the only cone to put on a ABD is a K&N that's the rules.....

P.S I have  ABD and they are great.......

P.P.S those S2000 are way to small and puny for Plymouth VRS....

Small and puny? What power do you run Plymouth? Guys on FB VAG Talk group running 300+ with the S2K setup and they actually changed to this from other well known brands.

AMK/BAM are 3" MAF no? In which case if they are 3" the S2K filter will go straight on, no adapter required.

Yea mine is 3" I'm running just over 300bhp so the s2000 filter won't be man enough then? I'm stuck between a rock and hard place with this one lol!

Not sure where the small and puny comment comes from, much bigger than the one I replaced it with;

Mmmmmm yes defiantly looks the part lets hope the flow rate is good enough.

There's a thread on audi-sport.net I think with back to backs, flowed better than other aftermarket ones I think...

Yep you have same as mine then buddy. ....

I have a large K&N Cossie cone on mine.

Flow rate on those S2000 should be ok .

You may have to get a silicon 3" to 3" joiner to go on ABD CAI still as not sure those S2000 plastic ends are enough to clamp onto metal CAI and hold tight.

I bought a S2000 cone, and got some adapters off ebay to fit it to my ebay CAI, not a chance of fitting. Can you give me a link to the one you`ve used there?

You could suck it through the turbo and cause some expensive damage to the turbo and your engine.

Unlikely to happen (although I have seen it happen with ITG foam filters on Evo's running GT35's), but it can happen.
