Hi all! Has anyone here fitted a tow bar to a Mk1 estate? I have an 02 1.9tdi Elegance. Being a newbie I'm not sure whether I'm right about the fitment. As far as I can gather there's a rear cross member that unbolts and is substituted with a tow bar beam and bracket. If so, how tricky is it to do and does anyone know about the best way to install the electrics. As far as I can see my car's not pre-wired.

 

I've read most of the posts on the subject but can't quite find what I want. Pics or diagrams would be useful. Also, any recommendations as to what make of tow bar.
