Joined up as I am looking to buy a Octavia .

As a apprentice i worked at Saltdean Garage a dealer in the 80's on the old Estelles and Rapids . Good memories of the old Estelles loads of head gaskets , knackered master cylinders and anything else that had crap Czech rubber in it , taking gearboxes to bits on pdi and sorting out seized kinkpins. I can remember there was a S110r in the showroom that was P reg in green and only done 400 miles , always wondered what happened to that.

The Favorit came out and it was a revolution compared to the Estelle . I got made redundant 1991 but went back to the same garage in 97 when the Octavia came out , loads of taxi's , knackered DMF's and gearboxes . I was the first to pdi and drive a new Octavia Vrs , the Felicia Fun was errr fun to drive around in , 4 up on roadtest .

Anyway ....... The dealer owner sold up and the new owners were not the usual Skoda family friendly types and I left in 2000 because i was not happy with how it was run . Glad i did , the place closed down a few years ago .
