Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry if these questions have been repeated before, looking for specific information for what comes on UK cars.

Does Cruise control come as standard?

What alloys are Standard - Gemini Anthracite/ Gemini Silver/ Pictoris Silver?

Spare wheel  – NO wheel/Space saver (any idea of option number to get a full size spare?)

Is Performance Mode Selection/ vRS MODE standard?

What is Bluetooth (Phonebox) storage for phone?

What is Electric interface for external use, without adapter line (AMI)?

What is Bluetooth+ (wireless aerial connectionr) ?

What is - Cruise control system (CCS) electronic ?

Thanks for help

Cruise isn't standard,

At the moment Anthracite Gemini alloys are standard, however the silver versions are a no cost option along with the Pictoris wheels.

I don't think a full size spare will fit in the wheel well but I've not had mine out to check.

Mode selection is standard too (if the ever get round to fitting a vRS button it'd be nice but it's exactly the same thing!)

Cruise control (CCS) is the standard cruise control you asked that was fitted as standard (ie non adaptive)

AMI interface is an iPod/iPhone specific wired connection to allow you to browse/control said device from the stereo

Bluetooth+ is a bit of a misnomer as it's sod all to do with Bluetooth! It upgrades the wee cubby box under the heater controls by means of an induction coil antenna which is in turn connected to a small aerial  on the car roof, this also includes the phone storage box you mentioned - basically you can get better phone reception as the aerial is out of the car.

Hope this helps. I'd say download a brochure but not a lot of the options are well explained! The czech skoda site does have good explanations even using google translator!

Cheers,

Mike

Cruise not standard

The Gemini Anthracite were standard

No spare - compressor and goo !

Performance mode standard

Bluetooth phone box comes with the Bluetooth+. Boosts signal and saves battery ?

The AMI connection is the same as the MDI connection. Ability to control connected device through the steering wheel/audio controls

The CCS is the standard cruise.

Cruise not standard

The CCS is the standard cruise.

Thanks guys, I take it that as Cruise is Not standard....CCS is the option?

Yep, not standard and the CCS option (ie the cheap one) is normal cruise control.

You can spec Adaptive cruise control with Front assist but that's a whole different topic!  :giggle:

Thanks. In Ireland Cruise is standard, just checking if our cruise = CCS, which it appears to be (The adaptive cruise is extra)

Cruise is standard in Ireland?  :wall:

It would be interesting to know what else the UK is getting shafted over (compared to Eire)

Pretty sure that Ireland get a whole host of extra things as standard, that we here in the UK have to pay for, however, the starting price in Ireland is a bucket load more!

You can get a full size spare in the well, it fits. I have tried.

Possibly the first person to do so. Well done.

A new Gemini for me then.....

The Irish price is very high because of VRT & VAT, UK buyers would NOT be paying the "quoted" Skoda Ireland price as they could probably claim a very large percentage back.

IIRC Mk2 & Mk3 vRS we better spec in Ireland.

Btw I was told the vRS mode is an option here, a €250 option, seems very expensive.
