My dad has an 04 plate octavia diesel and has a full list of electrical problems that all appeared together. The list of items that all stopped working is,

Speedo , trip meter, mpg gauge, revering lights , reversing beepers , odometer.

Does anyone have any clues if all this is related as I think possibly electrical connected to the gearbox somewhere but I'm not sure.

I would suggest 2 faults:

 

 - instrument cluster issue.  Fuse, relay or PCB issue

 

 - reversing switch on the gearbox (or fuse)
