Which DV spring

Featured Replies

I have 3 springs 1 silver 1 yellow and a slightly longer yellow spring my boost gauge hits 20 psi and holds about16 ish at the mo I have the small yellow spring is this spring good enough with that much boost ? The DV was on the car when I got it I found the other springs in the boot I'm gonna get a forge one when go stage 2 but stuck wit this for now thanks

Yellow forge springs are common mate, tbh they tend to be fine from stock to stage 2

Is it only stage 1 if its touching 20psi bud

Mine will hit 21/22 then drop and hold at 16 ish, i run a forge yellow, its on a stage 2 revo

Should be fine with Green on stage 1, yellow stage 2...

This is what I can't understand with this car it was mapped etc by previous owner by Jbs auto designs surly it shouldn't be hitting 21 22 dropping bk to 16-17 psi standard intercooler I think it's got a standard down pipe to this pressures are stage 2 territory I rang Jbs auto designs to ask they weren't very helpfull and where suppose to ring me bk but never did my plan is to fit decat Fmic then take it to rtec for proper set up (stage 2) when I go to Leicester as I go there at least twice a month anyway

That's another thing my DV ain't forge don't no what it is was on the car with these pressures I'll stick with yellow spring it's just I have 2 yellow springs one longer than the other

Jbs - custom code always had a rep from what i read, they were boost happy, always heard bad things

If not a forge valve its the other prob, the firge is the main valve so anything else being s copy will make it hard to know.

Hmmm :(

Yh I'll have that custom code removed and let rtec perform there magic I think a oo7p is also gonna be needed thanks for your opinion anyway

Sweet :) a Rtech map

A standard one is fine and I think even R Tech recommend it.

A standard new one yeah they do :)

A grand ain't gone far considering a new clutch and fly wheel and cam belt and water pump came out of it wish I could have spent the grand on mods

Normally you will soon know if your DV is not performing, as you will get  hesitance, possible limp mode,  poor boosting etc.  But you could have a slightly leaking DV as aftermarket ones are well known for that. A leak test will bring that up.

I have a forge DV and it came with 3 springs. Now there seems to be 4 springs.

see here and the PSI rating

I use Yellow for my car which is running just under 20PSI with a Shark Map

The colours and PSI rating differ for none Forge springs so not sure on yours

Best bet if you are gong to get it mapped again is take it down to R Tech and get them to tell you what's what...  That way you can be sure not to spend unneeded dosh on  another DV that won't gain you much. Even the OEM DV (a new one that has better spring) should be ok.

Cheers bowders u seem to have

All the answers I gonna get a forge one as mine is one of them **** 30 quid eBay ones if I put a 007 on I no it's decent and doin it's job don't trust that cheap one thanks anyway mate

Noooooo mickey mouse valve :D

Yellow can be a little harsh when easing off the go pedal at high rpm in my experience

If you're concerned about the safety of the MAP, I can pull it off for you and reflash with an original file.

I had a weird issue when I revved my car it would not dump at all. Checked the dump valve and i was running a red one which I checked and its for 34PSI +. I changed it to a yellow one and it changed the whole drive of my car. No boost surge and it dumped as it should :)
