Balls! Pressure Washed the Laquer off my mirror!

Just washed it down with the pressure washer, typical weekend wash down. Got some crap off the mirror, this is what was left when I moved on:

I'm guessing I've got two options:

a) Remove it, wet+dry all the laquer off, smooth it out and rattle-can it red and then laquer it.

B) Remove both mirrors, smooth down and plasti-dip them black

Does anyone have photos of a car running option B?

Cheers

This is why I'm reluctant to use a power washer

On the Karcher, I've had two, you are clearly instructed not to use the "dirt blaster" on your car, the lance I use would not do this unless the lacquer was already perforated........and then you would have to get the lance very very close to the car

In many years of using a pressure washer, I have never had any issues or know of anyone until now who has done this!!

Has the mirror been repainted at any point?

Just wet and dry, t cut it and polish it up then put some wax on. Do this every couple of weeks and it will stay shiny. My other halfs by hyundai coupe had this problem with lacquer peel so I blasted it all off with jet wash and just kept it polished up.

How close were you to the paintwork? Must have been very close or as above its been previously repainted

I wasn't overly close, I think there may have been a little bit of peel on there before I started.

+1 on this. If you use the correct nozzle at the right distance you'll never have any problems unless theres a fault in your top coat. Nilfisk do an auto nozzle that has a wider and softer spry pattern specifically for cleaning cars. In actual fact I'd say domestic pressure washers are better for your car than using any contact method as you reduce the possibility of dragging the dirt across the top coat creating swirl marks.
