How many miles were on those sparkies sparkly ?

Which ones?  The ones removed at service I assume had done 40k, but I cannot be certain the previous owner hadn't changed them before.  I intend to change with much more frequency, given the low cost i think new set every 10k, no need to lunch an engine over a few extra pounds at service, I'm quids in anyway as I no longer need to go to Skoda as out of warranty.  However does mean I am in charge of which oil goes in, this post may be evidence that this is not a good thing :)

Ones currently in the car have 2.5k on them, same as the oil :)

Binzie,

The thing about spark plugs is, you have no idea when buying a used car, if on original plugs or not.

The previous owner might have had them changed at 20,000 miles,

half the Skoda Service schedule of 40,000 miles.

I think the 40,000 miles needs revised or reviewed,

i changed plugs again on a Twincharger last week.  22,000 miles, and the second plug from the drivers side was again,

oiled and had been getting over heated before the oiling.

That is a hot Cylinder/Piston on the Twincharger due to the Forced Induction design and needs to be checked on.

Plugs changed early worth every penny IMO.

Number 3 is a bad egg, can see on my pic above it's the black sheep.

'OzFabia' is on 0w 30 i think, but then rather different ambient temps.

Nope, 5W/30. There's been five days recently of 37 and up (right through the last Test Match coincidentally), so I'll be interested to see what "damage" this has done to the oil level: a 40+ hot spell last year, and plus 100 temperatures on "normal" driving, burnt a bit more oil than normal.
