vrs decat?

Featured Replies

Ive order a decat pipe for my 1.8t vrs and I was just wondering if it will throw any lights up on the dash and is it worth using the sensor blanking plugs and what will happen if I do?

Cheers

Simon

Mine threw up eml light after 3 days ha, got it reset again. it come on after i left it in 3rd on the overrun high revs.

You can buy a spacer that keeps light off

The spacer is guaranteed tho . Mine seem to come on every hundred miles or so , but I found out that if I went on a good couple of hours run it never came on only when I was pottering about .

It is hit and miss with a Decat bringing a cell on...

Mine don't

I've a spacer on mine and no light at all.

Okay what about having both sensors deleted from the ecu? Is there any benefits from doing it

Surly this can be mapped out

I imagine you need to keep the pre cat sensor so the engine can monitor the air/fuel ratio. Post cat should be fine to delete.

I am keen on removing my Cat for a decent setup. I have one of them OBD2 bluetooth adaptors which I can connect to my phone to turn off the EML light. Does removing the Cat make a difference ?

Just fitted a decat downpipe yesterday no EML on yet and they do make a difference spool up much quicker, throttle response quicker. Have a look at my build thread to see the difference in size the standard pipe is so restrictive.
