Has anyone found a remedy for this....its driving me mad....the dealer has installed the recomended spacer between the wastegte actuator motor and its mount....the rattle reduced but still is there and its annoying

The spacer wasn't for a rattle. It's because the control rod went out of range. The spacer was easier than adjusting the rod.

Wasn't there the addition of a weight to the rod (hence changing its resonant frequency) - or am I getting mixed up with something else?

no nothing....the heatsheild was not removed....
